Women’s Studies Internship (WMNST 598)
Why be an intern?
- Earn 3 units of credit working in a community organization.
- Get hands-on experience.
- Prepare for a career.
All women’s studies majors are required to complete either Women’s Studies 598 (internship) or satisfy an international experience requirement.
All Women's Studies majors are highly encouraged and typically required to complete either Women's Studies 598 (Internship) or satisfy an international educational experience. Given some students' ongoing need to socially distance and less opportunities available due to COVID-19, this is not required for all students graduating in December 2021, May 2022, and August 2022.
WMNST 598 is offered on a credit/no credit basis only. You can complete an internship any semester. Students work a total of 120 hours over the semester (8 hours per week for 15 weeks). Most internships are unpaid.
It is open to any undergraduate student who has a 2.5 GPA and who has completed at least one upper-division Women's Studies course, and any graduate student enrolled in the Women’s Studies MA program.
If you are interested in enrolling WMNST 598, please download and complete the internship packet of information and forms.
